“The Fragile Wonder: A Journey into Changing Nature” is a collection of images that denounces one of the central themes of contemporary society: the relationship between nature and mankind. Nature follows its unstoppable course, while humans remain inert and silent spectators in front of its perfect mechanisms. Fire, water, earth, air – the four elements are immortalized, prompting reflection on the role humans have had and will have in their continuous transformation.
The works are displayed in underground rooms on different levels. The first room, called the “Vaulted Room,” hosts a series of photographs arranged longitudinally. The “Sala dei 300,” accessed through a staircase connected to the vaulted room, features various three-dimensional elements protruding from the walls. The centerpiece of the exhibition is the glacier, printed on glass, made three-dimensional thanks to a system of overlapping plates and varying distances. The glacier is juxtaposed with the moon, supported by a circular structure hanging from the ceiling.
Near the moon, three light boxes are designed with thin profiles and hidden joints, containing three images that, thanks to their transparency, add even more lightness to the structure.
“I was moved by the awareness of time slipping away. Climate change, too, is a conflict that we must be fully aware of and strive to resolve.” – Paolo Pellegrin
